Season 4 Ep. 12: “Grief and Love, One Can’t Exist Without the Other,” with Guest Emily Bingham

SEASON 4 Ep 12: Grief and Love, One Can’t Exist Without the Other, with guest Emily Bingham

Grief is a reflection of love. It’s a natural part of life, and the more we love, the more profound our grief will be when that love is lost. If we think about the fact that grief is grounded in love, it does help us move through the journey.

This is part of the work that grief coaches like Emily Bingham do. She helps people navigate significant life traumas. But this isn’t just Emily’s profession. She has personally walked through the flames of grief herself.

Emily’s young husband Ian died at the age of 32 from a rare form of eye (ocular) cancer. With two young children, and having been with Ian since she was 18 years old, Emily now found herself in a unique space–young widowed mother.

Emily and I peel back the layers of both our grief journeys, especially as we approach the holiday season. We discuss what brought her to the work she does, and the very challenging place of dating again.

With a new podcast on the way, Emily runs her program through her company Move Thru. She offers support, guidance, retreats and more. She is also the author of Love & Grief (see link below for book ordering.
